Mike Bourne

Registered Osteopath & Exercise Therapist

BSc (Hons) Osteopathic Medicine, Dip PT/ST

I have always felt passionate about health & fitness. My own journey has brought me the experience of being in the very best of health and also the frustration of being in pain and injured. I have competed at national and international level in Duathlon and worked with elite and amateur level athletes from numerous sports.

I am passionate about the healing power of nature. As a surfer I enjoy the connection with the power of the ocean and the lessons it teaches me while reflecting the ebb and flow of my own life.

After more than twenty years as a Health Professional I still wake up every morning looking forward to my day. I find solace in the words of Siddhartha Gautama “the only way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” for this is my daily mantra as I offer my clients all I can give to help.

Natalie Day

McTimoney Chiropractor

I grew up on the North Cornwall coast and attended Falmouth School of Art and Design after A-levels before moving to London and working as a nanny, I then rather fell into office work and 8 years of corporate career and 3 redundancies later I decided to switch direction and trained in massage therapy in 2002. I then went on to study a number of disciplines before gaining the title Doctor of Chiropractic on graduating from the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Abingdon.

I had my own clinic in Kent which I ran for 6 years with a team of complementary therapists before relocating to Oxfordshire in 2016 and opening a clinic with my partner. I spent a year working at an MS Therapy Centre supporting patients and carers with chiropractic care and have worked as part of an integrated team with chiropractors, osteopaths and physiotherapists among others over the years.

More recently I’ve developed a particular interest in strength rehab training and working with patients to improve core, back and body strength as part of my care approach. This has led to rapid and significant improvements in strength, balance and mobility for many of my patients and seeing the commitment and determination from them never fails to inspire me.

Away from clinical work I’m a professional artist exhibiting at galleries and events around the country and I’m currently undergoing intensive mentoring with the Newlyn School of Art. On the days I’m not in clinic you’ll find me in my studio working on paintings, making my own paints from locally gathered materials and generally making a good old mess.

“Mike has been my personal trainer since 2000. As a result of Mikes help I have run three marathons and many half marathons, cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats and completed the Etape du Tour (amateur stage of Tour de France). The great thing about Mike is that he has made me believe that I was able to achieve these goals, and has set out a realistic way forward to achieve them. As an Osteopath he has treated me effectively when I had back pain on my bike, in addition giving advice on how I can adapt my training. I greatly appreciate his professional help and friendship”.
